Bird Sanctuary with Auntie
Today Sydney and I spent a long overdue day with my sister Liane. Liane loves bird watching and one of her favourite places to go is the Reifel Bird Sanctuary on Westham Island, so today we decided to head there together to spend a perfect summer day!
It is so incredibly peaceful and tranquil there. The scenery is so beautiful and raw nature is at it's finest.
Sydney quickly burned her way through three bags of bird seed feeding the ducks!
We saw some very interesting birds along the way. These sandhill cranes were, by far, the coolest.
We climbed the tall blue tower that overlooks the estuary where the view extended all the way to UBC, the gulf islands and Mount Baker! Amazing!
After all that bird watching we set up a little picnic together for lunch.
And then headed down the street to Emma Lea Farms for ice cream and to pick up some fresh berries.
What a wonderful day visiting with my sister, taking in some amazing scenery and enjoying all that Westham Island has to offer!
