A Day in Gastown

Early this afternoon Sydney and I headed down to Gastown to meet up with our friends Christine and Henry from preschool.  I don't get down to Gastown very often, it is such a neat place to visit!  I felt like a tourist in my own town and was amazed at all of the amazing shops and restaurants that have opened up here over the past few years!  Would love to go back again and check out a few of the spots!

We took the kids to the Old Spaghetti Factory for lunch.  Henry is fanatical about trains so he was thrilled to be able to sit right in the trolley car that is smack dab in the middle of the restaurant with tables inside for dining.

We all ordered heaping plates of spaghetti and enjoyed every last bite, from the warm sourdough loaf to the spumoni ice cream at the end!

After lunch we took a little wander up the street to Cartem's doughnuts for a special treat!  We each got a delicious doughnut for dessert and enjoyed the walk around the neighborhood.

What a fun way to spend a day and such a nice treat to have a visit with Henry and Christine.  We've missed everyone from school and it's so fun to connect during the summer months!
