Friday the 13th

Sydney and I spent the morning at the aquarium today.  She absolutely loves it there and it was great to have the chance to wander through all of the new exhibits since their renovations.  The aquarium has recently built a penguin cove to house seven new African penguins who now call this place their home.  It was so fun to see them today along with all our other favourite ocean creatures.

Here's a snapshot of our visit in pictures:

Jellyfish ~ my favourite!

Moon Jellyfish

Nap Time for the otters!

The New Penguins!

'Hands-on' Tank

Sea Cucumber

Venus Fly Trap Exhibit

Nemo

Beluga

Sydney sat and watched the belugas for a really long time today.  It was very serene actually.  She really loved them!  She burst into a round of 'baby beluga' a few times while she was in the beluga gallery, it was quite funny!

After our fun morning at the aquarium we had lunch together at White Spot, one of Sydney's favourite haunts!

We spent a leisurely afternoon in our backyard and going for a walk.  I got Sydney this very cool new bubble blower, it's like a hand held fan with a bubble wand on the end and it literally blows hundreds of bubbles in a few seconds!  She loved it, figured out how to use it in no time and filled the backyard with bubbles all afternoon!

We ended our day by heading out to dinner at Candia Taverna, one of our favourite local Greek restaurants.  It was a nice way to end our week and a mellow summer day!
