A Tea Party

This afternoon was a very special one for Sydney. She had three of her best girl friends from school over for the afternoon for a group play date and tea party.  All three of her friends, Julia, Addison and Noa, showed up to school wearing fancy dresses, they were so excited to come for tea today!

Sydney and I spent the past few days getting everything ready for this special tea party.  We set the table beautifully and got out fancy china tea cups for each guest.

And we put together little takeaway bags for the girls too, each filled with a beautiful jewelled purse for them to take home.

We borrowed some tiered serving plates for the event and merrily filled them with finger sized treats for the girls to share.

They were absolutely adorable drinking tea, raspberry lemonade and apple juice out of their tea cups and teeny crystal glasses.

The girls were so thrilled to have so many treats to share too!  Addi's Mom, Amanda brought the fluffiest pink marshmallows from Butter bakery and made some homemade brownies which she cut into heart shapes!

Noa's Mom, Gretchen made the yummiest scones and brought them tucked into a wee picnic basket!

Julia's Mom brought me the best gift in keeping with our theme, a tin of the most decadent Tea Party tea!  I loved it!

After all the treats the girls decided that they wanted to enjoy the warm and balmy afternoon so we played outside in the backyard for almost an hour.

Before heading in for ice cream.

What a day to remember!  The girls were just thrilled to be together and to share this most wonderful afternoon!

Here's to many more pots of tea and tea parties together!
