BC Day

The weather took a startling turn today, it was overcast and about fifteen degrees cooler than it has been the past few days!  It felt like a cruel reminder that the long weekend was fast coming to an end!

Paul had to head into the office early this afternoon to see some emergency patients, so we thought we'd squeeze in a few moments at Granville Island this morning before we were back to business.  It's neat visiting Granville Island this time of year, we literally felt like the only locals on the entire island.  Tourists of all sorts were wandering around, cameras in hand, taking in the sights and enjoying the treats at the market.  It was fun watching them.

The rest of the day had a catch-up kind of feel to it, went to visit Paul's Mom, did a grocery shop, raked leaves in the backyard, answered some e-mails and made some dinner.  And we finally tracked down that falafel that I had been craving for days now... Mellow and quiet, a nice way to start the week either way you look at it!

The week ahead is going to be nice, lots of time at home and visits with friends.  We have people coming over for lunch three days in a row.  It feels like weeks since I've hosted anyone, so it's nice to finally have an excuse to try some new recipes and have people in.

Hope you had a happy Monday and BC Day long weekend!
