Happy Birthday Aaro
I spent a busy morning getting details organized for our upcoming holiday. I had a to-do list with thirty things on it and happily plowed through item after item until I had only six things remaining. It felt good to be productive and get things organized for a, hopefully, seamless trip.
This afternoon Sydney continued on painting her salt dough ornaments as we will start delivering our gift bags shortly. I love how relaxed she is when she paints:
I made a batch of scones today as our friends Emma and Sarah were coming over for an afternoon playdate. I served them with my homemade raspberry jam, they were delicious!
I also made a batch of Gingerbread playdough this afternoon which we will be including in the special bags for our closest friends. It was chock full of great, aromatic spices, it smelled so good! We wrapped it like a Christmas cracker in parchment paper and tied ribbon around each end along with a gingerbread man cookie cutter. I really like how they turned out!
Emma brought Sydney her Christmas gift this afternoon:
It was something very special, a beautiful pink beaded necklace, handmade by Sarah's friend Maryna who is an up and coming fashion and jewellery designer. It was the exact same necklace that Emma wore to her parent's wedding this summer:
Sarah also gave me a beautiful pair of gloves, I love them, so feminine and practical for this time of year!
After our playdate we all piled into the car and drove out to our friend Andrea and Aaro's house for Aaro's 3rd birthday party.
His party was a dance club theme, the entire living room and dining room was emptied out of furniture and in it's place was a live deejay and colourful lights flashing everywhere along with helium balloons covering the ceiling.
The kids had a blast dancing and playing with the balloons!
Sydney gathered up a huge bouquet:
Andrea always makes the most amazing food and today was no exception! We so enjoyed the decadent treats that she served!
She also had a pinata that was shaped like a disco ball for the kids, inside was filled with all sorts of toys and the kids got to collect up as many as they could in their own baggie. Sydney did quite well!
We came home with a beautiful loot bag filled with fun treats, a small Etch-a-Sketch, clay, Hello Kitty tattoos and a candy apple along with a custom made "Syd" necklace!
Our friends Tracy and Ron were at the party tonight too and gave us this beautiful stollen loaf from Thomas Haas for Christmas, can't wait to try it!
What a busy and super fun day!
