Birthdays!

Sydney and I had a fun Saturday connecting with friends from preschool today at two birthday parties for both Julia and Levi, her classmates from preschool.  You've got to love two party days, always such fun to leave one event with the excitement of the next just starting to build!

Julia's party was a Sportball party.  The kids, lead by a fun and enthusiastic instructor, played tons of games with balls of varying shapes and sizes!  It was very fun!  Syd, of course, didn't want to follow along with the instructions given and instead just wanted to play with the balls and equipment any old way she saw fit!

Julia's party was a Mickey Mouse theme, she had the most beautiful cake!  The Micky and Minnie figurines on top were hand made with rolled chocolate!  So incredible!

We had a very fun time visiting with the kids from preschool and even had the chance to set up a new year's playdate with one of the girls from the class that we've been trying to get together with!  I love that we are connecting with new friends and families within her school community.

Late this afternoon we headed to Marpole-Oakridge Family Place for Sydney's friend Levi's party.  Sydney and a few more of her preschool buddies had a great time playing in the fun space there and enjoyed the hockey theme!

It was such a nice way to spend the day, sharing celebrations with two of Sydney's friends that she spends every day with!

On our way home, Sydney and I drove around for quite some time looking at the Christmas lights.  Syd loves Christmas lights so much and had been begging me to go out for a drive or walk to see them so today was the perfect opportunity as we were driving home in the dark from Levi's party.  I loved hearing Sydney's reactions to the different light displays, she was truly in awe!

Today also happens to be my nephew Kenan's 13th  birthday!  Welcome to the teens Kenan!   We were celebrating in spirit with you today while at our birthday celebrations!

This evening Zach and Mir came over to help us light the Hanukkah candles and have some dinner together.  Syd loved having a visit with them and so enjoyed sharing her last Hanukkah present, the coveted electronic digger, with her brother!

What fun we've had over the past eight nights as we've celebrated Hanukkah together!
