Super Sunday

Wow!  What a fun-filled Sunday Sydney and I had today.  We literally went from one event to the next all day enjoying ourselves and the gorgeous warm weather that this first day of June brought us!

We started our day off at Phoenix Gymnastics celebrating Sydney's friend Henry's 5th birthday together with the entire preschool class.  It was such a special and bittersweet celebration together as we all realized that this is the last birthday party that we will celebrate as a class together!

Sydney and the kids had so much fun in the gym, jumping on the trampoline, swinging on the rope swing, using the rings and bouncing around in the foam pit.

Then we all headed into the party room for snacks and a very special doughnut cake!

Henry and his family have become such special friends of ours over the past three years as Syd and Henry have been together in the same preschool class.  We have watched their family grow with the addition of Henry's little brother Morris, and have had many wonderful memories and times together with them over this time.  May this be the beginning of a long and lasting friendship!

We headed straight from Henry's party to Granville Island to watch the show 'A Circus in Wonderland' that was playing as part of the Vancouver Children's Festival.

What an amazing performance!  It was very much like Cirque du Soleil except the performers were teenagers!

We so enjoyed it!  We ran into our friends Andrea and Aaro and Saskia and Myrtle on the way in and sat with them and had a great visit.

Then onto our third and final event of the day, we joined our friends Erin and Bea for a lovely garden party at their home.  Erin had arranged to have an English country dance teacher come and do some traditional dancing with us in the garden, it was a riot!

Kids and adults alike all joined in and danced and laughed to the sounds of the accordian.

Sydney really loved being able to dance so freely in the backyard with all of her friends!

What a great day!  We both came home feeling pleasantly pooped after all that excitement!  It was a great way to kick off the month of June!
