A Trip to the Fire Hall

These last few precious days of preschool are filled with so many fun times.  This morning was one of those days that held memories that will last a lifetime!

Sydney has been asking me if we could ride the bus to school one day since way back in September.  I kept promising her that we would and this morning I made good on my promise and we rode the bus together to preschool.

Syd was thrilled, she loves everything about the bus, peering out the windows, watching the other passengers get on and off, hearing all the stops announced, getting a ticket to hold and, most of all, pulling the cord when it's our stop.

We got to school in record time and gathered everyone to head to the fire station.  What a fun time we had!  The firefighters had everything set up for us when we arrived, the trucks were out and open for touring as was the hall and they even set up a hose which they attached to a fire hydrant and they let each child have a turn spraying the fire hose!

The kids had such fun in the trucks and looking around the station.

Just as we were about to dress one of the Mommas up in a firefighter's suit we heard bells go off and the firemen had to rush out to attend to a call.

How exciting for the kids to watch the fire trucks pull away with their sirens blaring!

After all of that excitement we had a little snack on the grass at the station, then headed across the street to the playground so the kids could spend some time playing at the park together, followed by a picnic lunch.

It was a great morning together and one that won't soon be forgotten!

Sydney and I rode the bus from school to her last art class of this term early this afternoon.  Sydney made a little clay dog which she got to take home today.  She has enjoyed learning about Mary Cassat these past several weeks.

When we got home we found a couple of special pieces of mail, a thank you card addressed directly to Sydney in our mailbox from her friend Henry and a beautiful hand drawn thank you note from her friend Noa's big sister Maytal.  I love how Maytal drew a picture of Sydney and I on it!

What an adventuresome day we had!  We were both exhausted from all the fun by the time we got home!
