Charlotte Diamond

This morning Sydney and I had the pleasure of meeting up with our friends Sarah and Emma to take in a concert by Charlotte Diamond who was performing on Granville Island as part of the International Children's Festival.

It was such a beautiful morning on the island, we took some time to let the girls play at the playground there and saw the sweetest little baby geese!

Sydney was so excited to see Charlotte and hear some of her favourite, beloved songs.  She didn't disappoint!  She sang and danced and engaged the sold out audience with her fun songs.  Her grown son Matt even performed with her as part of her Hug Bug band!

Sydney was very cute clapping along and following the actions with the songs.  It was such a pleasure to take the girls to a concert together, one of many I hope!

We came home with a new CD of Charlotte's, her best hits.  We will so enjoy listening to it in the car!

After the concert Paul and Emma's Daddy Mike met up with us on the island and we went for a lovely lunch at the Dockside Restaurant in the Granville Island Hotel.  We sat on their amazing sun drenched patio drinking wine and chatting and enjoying the spectacular view.  What a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

We took the girls for ice cream and to feed the birds at the public market afterwards.  As we were sitting outside we noticed Justin Trudeau was working his way through the crowd so my brave friend Sarah went up to him and asked him if we could get a picture with him.  He grabbed Syd out of my arms and held her for the shot, it was fantastic!  I was telling Syd on the way home that when he's Prime Minister one day I'm going to pull that picture out and show her that when she was just a little girl the leader of our country held her in his arms!

It was such a relaxed and lovely day today!  Felt like we kicked off summer just right!
