A June Weekend
This weekend started off on a fabulous note as my Dunbar group of Moms and I got together for a lovely dinner out to celebrate my dear friend Christina's birthday.
We went to Senova restaurant, a lovely Italian neighborhood place with a warm vibe and good food and had such a fun evening of food wine, laughter, sharing and dreaming about years to come when our kids are in school and on the same soccer team and we're doing summer holidays together.
We all recognize that this special group of people who happened to find each other because our babies were born within months of each other is something extraordinary. We were meant to be together and together we will be for now and for years to come. It warms my heart just thinking about it!
Saturday brought Sydney's last piano lesson for this term. We are taking the summer off of lessons to give her a little break and allow us more freedom and time on our precious sunny weekends together as a family.
Syd and I hauled up at the spa for the afternoon and I treated Syd to a very special treat, her own mini pedicure. She decided she wanted rainbow toes, carefully chose five different colours for her toes and the endlessly patient Tammy painted each of her wee nails until they were perfect, coat after coat.
Syd was thrilled and has been admiring them non-stop ever since!
We spent some time working on a fun craft that we got for Syd's birthday that I had tucked away for a rainy day. Syd had great fun making some Hello Kitty hairbands with me.
Sunday brought such a warm and wonderful day. We decided to head down to the seawall at Olympic Village to wander around and explore.
Sydney had the time of her life running and dancing and climbing on structures.
We climbed over a huge pile of rocks to explore Habitat Island as well, got some amazing shots while we were there and enjoyed the beautiful wild flowers that were planted there.
I dug my bike out of the garage this weekend, it hasn't been seen or used in five years! Paul lovingly gave it a full once over, washed it and checked the gears and walked it to the gas station to pump up the completely flat tires. I'm excited to jump back on it and give it a try!
