I got a call this week from Sydney's second cousin Issy's Mom. She was wondering if they could stop by to have a visit and bring Sydney something. Unfortunately, with Syd under the weather we didn't think a visit would be the best thing, so they stopped by for literally two minutes just to deliver Sydney something very special that Issy had made for her.
Issy and his Gran made this fleece ball by hand especially for Sydney. It's great! Look at the stitching on top, Issy did that all himself, quite an accomplishment for an 8 year old!
I think Sydney knows that there's something special about this ball, she's picked it up several times over the past few days and tries to tell me something in her toddler babble about it before launching it across the room.
It was a lovely surprise and such a thoughtful, handmade gift. We were so grateful to have even a very short visit and see some friendly faces too after being in the house on our own for days on end. The fleece ball will be sure to find it's way to Sydney's memory box, in the years to come I will pull it out and think of this sweet and kind gesture from Issy!
