Errands
It felt like I was in my car driving literally all day today! Syd had her art class this morning, but before we headed there, we packed up the meals that we had prepared for my friend Louise and drove across town to drop them off at her place. Sydney has gotten so much better about being in the car for an extended period of time. We have come a long way from the days of her screeching in her car seat non-stop while driving anywhere, to her now being so interested in everything that she can see from the car window. She points out every digger, garbage truck, school bus, ambulance, fire truck or transport truck that her little eyes can spot. It's quite cute!
We managed to squeeze in a quick coffee at Bean Town before our art class. This is fast becoming our Wednesday morning tradition. The two guys that work at this coffee shop are named Jason and Chris and Syd affectionately refers to Bean Town as "Jason and Chris's house." She asks to go there at least a half dozen times a week!
After art class we took a little jaunt into our favourite baby store on Dunbar, Peekaboo. This sweet shop is, sadly, closing at the end of this month and they have a wall of toys and merchandise at 70% off. I simply cannot resist a bargain, and stocked up on a few things for baby shower and birthday gifts for the future! Elly is the lady who works at Peekaboo and she and Syd have developed a very special friendship. Sydney loves going into the shop to visit her. Luckily, when the store closes, Elly will be moving next door to the Splash toy shop to work, so Sydney will still get to see her!
After our little shopping blitz, we climbed in the car and drove to Point Roberts to pick up my friend Lori's shower gift for the baby shower that I am hosting for her next weekend. As we were driving, the clouds parted and we had a few hours of beautiful, sunny weather. It was fantastic!
When we got home from Point Roberts, Paul and Syd went off to the park for a while and I jumped into my car, yet again, to run a few more errands. There seems to be so much to do these days and not enough time to do it all in!!
I was glad to get home at the end of the day and relax for a while. We have so been enjoying our new barbecue this year, grilled up some steaks and roasted asparagus on the grill tonight too. It was delicious!
Paul was feeling like he needed something a little sweet for dessert tonight so I whipped up an apple blackberry crisp for us. Very tasty!
We had a full and productive day, it felt great to get a lot done!
