Thanksgiving Weekend

What a spectacular Thanksgiving weekend it was in Vancouver!  If you closed your eyes for a moment you might think that it was the middle of August, clear blue skies, sun shining and almost twenty degree temperatures for three straight days!

Early Saturday morning Sydney and I met up with my cousin Mel at Granville Island for coffee.  We sat outside in the sun basking in the beautiful fall day while we caught up.  It was beautiful!

Later that evening our friends Mike and Sarah came over for dinner.  It was so, so good to see them and catch up as it's been weeks since we've gotten together!  I made Salmon Wellington, baked wild rice and arugula salad along with an Italian antipasti platter and layered crab dip for appies.  Sarah brought the most delicious pumpkin pie for dessert from Aphrodites Cafe.

We had a lovely evening together and Sydney and Emma were oh so happy to be together once again!

Sunday brought a very special treat for Sydney, I took her to see the Dora the Explorer show live downtown at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

She was thrilled to see all of her favourite characters on stage and during the intermission we got a little treat for Syd, a new Dora shirt complete with it's own sewn on tutu!

This afternoon Sydney, Paul and I headed out to my sister's house for a fantastic Thanksgiving turkey dinner with her family and my brother and his girlfriend Stephanie.  The dinner was so delicious, turkey with all the trimmings!

We so enjoyed having a visit together and the boys enjoyed a little soak in the hot tub too.

It was a nicely paced weekend, not too much going on but just enough to keep the days interesting.
