After School Playdate

Today after school Sydney and I had one of her school friends over for a playdate for the afternoon.  Little Noa is one of the sweetest girls in Sydney's class.  She is clever and observant and always asks amazing, intelligent questions.  I often see she and Sydney sitting side by each in school or in the pictures that the teachers send by e-mail recounting their day.  I have the feeling these girls are going to be great friends!

Noa drove home with us today, her Mom and I strapped her car seat in the back seat next to Sydney's early in the morning so that we would be all set for pick up!  It was so cute to see how co-operative both girls were to get into their car seats.  They were so excited to be playing together today and had the cutest conversation in the backseat together on the way home!

The afternoon was so fun, it was delightful to see how close these two become and what a deep relationship they've formed after spending every morning together for the past three months!

They played in Sydney's bedroom for a while:

I love that they pulled out the Candyland game and tried to play a round together:

They hit up the playroom for a bit, taking turns singing "Twinkle, Twinkle" into the microphone on the new piano that Sydney got from Grandma for her birthday:

Then they headed upstairs and decided that they wanted to paint for a while.  This was, far and away, the best activity of the day!  They each created at least half a dozen masterpieces!

Then it was time for snack, crackers and cheese and, of course,  a tea party:

Along with a chocolate ice cream cone for dessert:

What a fun afternoon it was!  It has inspired me to invite more of Sydney's buddies from school over for play dates!  I often don't think of it as they spend every morning together, but it was so fun for Syd to have someone from school over, we will definitely be doing it again!
