Potty Party & Friends for Dinner

This morning Sydney and I joined our friends Jack and Christina along with some friends, at the new location of Butter Bakery to celebrate Jack officially being potty trained!  It has been a month in the making and he is using the potty all day now, a huge accomplishment!

Butter has opened a new space at W. 33rd and Mackenzie, it is a fantastic new space which now sells coffee and lunch as well as the usual decadent treats.

The kids all enjoyed having their signature cupcakes this morning!

Sydney and I got Jack a very special gift, some fun new undies to celebrate the big milestone!

It was so fun to celebrate with Jack and visit with our friends!

This afternoon we took a moment to go through Sydney's art that we brought home from preschool yesterday.  There have been ECE students from Vancouver Community College in class all week doing special art projects with the kids, so Sydney has some especially fun projects to take home this week!

Tonight our friends Mike and Sarah and their daughter Emma came over for dinner.  We had such fun visiting with them, they really are so lovely to spend time with!

Sydney gave Emma a special gift tonight, a ladybug necklace, one of two that had "best" and "friends" on each necklace.  It's so sweet!  They really are great friends and play so nicely together!

Sarah brought the most amazing chocolate mousse cake from Thomas Haas today for dessert, we so enjoyed it!  It was like a piece of artwork, we almost didn't want to eat it but were sure glad we did!  It was so delicious!

Mike also picked out a special wine to bring for dinner tonight, Osoyoos Larose Petales D'Osoyoos.  It is one of my favourites and we enjoyed it with the Salmon Wellington I made for dinner tonight!

Sarah also brought me a gift, a School Years journal, to keep records of every year that Syd is in school.  I love it and can't wait to fill the pages!

It was such a fun day of connecting with friends, just what we needed on this rainy and blustery October day!
