Special Visits

This morning started off with a very special visit.  Jen and Carmen, Sydney's preschool teachers, came over to have a home visit with Sydney so that they could have the chance to meet and interact with her in her own environment.

We were their very first home visit of the school year and Sydney was so excited to have them come!  Sydney helped me prepare a fruit plate and banana bread to set out for them in anticipation of their visit!

They are two of the sweetest ladies ever!  Sydney is so blessed to have them as her teachers this year!  They are both Moms themselves, so they have such a natural way with kids that shows far beyond their selected professions.

Sydney was a bit shy with them at first, but quickly warmed up and was chatting with them and was soon showing them books and her playdough sculptures that she made this morning.

They gave Syd a very special present to welcome her to preschool before they left:

We proudly hung it on the fridge and Sydney has taken great pride in looking at it all day and talking about preschool starting on Monday.

No sooner had Jen and Carmen left, than our friends Lori and Weston and Michelle and William came over for a playdate and lunch.  We had such fun visiting with them and lounging in the backyard in the sun over lunch for the second day in a row!

Lori brought a yummy marble loaf from Butter bakery:

And Michelle brought some delicious Butter mini cupcakes and some super cute decorated cookies for the kids too:

After all the excitement of the visits this morning, Sydney and I took a few quiet moments to go for a walk through the neighborhood and pick another bouquet of wildflowers yet again:

It has been so awesome connecting with friends this week and hosting lunches with some of our favourite Moms!
