Aquarium and The Beach

What a great Easter Monday Sydney and I had today.  We had a little sleep in this morning and missed having the chance to say goodbye to Daddy as he headed back to the office after a wonderful long weekend together.

First thing this morning we met up with our friends Sally and Ollie for a visit to the aquarium.  I always love going to the aquarium on beautiful, sunny days.  It's so nice when the kids can wander freely around outdoors and take it all in.

We spent some time playing in the kids section, hanging with the penguins and then joining some other children for Family Time where one of the staff members read Julia Donaldson's 'A Snail and a Whale' accompanied by some pretty funny puppets.

The kids were all sitting around in a circle on colourful button-like cushions.  At one point one of the kids tried to "feed" one of the cushions to the shark puppet.  This started a mad stampede as all of the kids rushed towards the stage to feed their button to the shark.  Syd loved it, she and Ollie were cracking up, it was awesome!

This afternoon we met up with our friends Lori, Marcus, Gwendolyn and Weston and Lori's Mom, who is in town visiting from Winnipeg, at the beach at Spanish Banks.

What an amazing day to be at the beach!  We were certainly not the only ones who thought so, it was busy!

Sydney had such fun digging in the sand and playing, it was a really nice way to end our afternoon!  I love this shot of Syd and Weston chilling in the sand.

Syd has been loving being back out in the backyard these days.  She has merrily pulled out all of her outside toys to play with.  Today she made what she called "Chicken Maple Grove" soup for me in a bucket, it looked very yummy with freshly harvested Italian Parsley, grass seed, top soil and all!

It has been an Easter weekend to remember both weather wise and with all the wonderful memories that we've made!  Hope you enjoyed your weekend too!
